On Friday, May 29, an innovative online purchasing pilot program approved by the United States Department of Agriculture will allow 740,000 Virginians who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, to buy food online and have it delivered to their homes.
The participating online retailers are Walmart (which has contact-less pick up service) and Amazon.
This will allow community members in need to stay safe and avoid crowded stores during this health crisis.
